Luxembourg City, Luxembourg

Our next destination was Luxembourg City for a 1 night stay over at an Airbnb. The journey from Normandy back to Paris was the most unexpected and stressful part of the trip. We were sitting on our train waiting to depart, when the loud speaker comes on and relays a message in French, to which all of the passengers started sighing and gathering their luggage. Not knowing what was happening, we had to try to find someone who could explain to us in English what was happening, and how we could get back to Paris. We ended up at Avis across the street and just missed the last rental car available. Luckily, two nice older gentlemen let us split the cost with them and we all rode back to Paris, where we just barely made our train to Luxembourg.

There was only one specific location that I wanted to see while in Luxembourg, and that was the U.S. cemetery to see the graves to several paratroopers featured in Band of Brothers, and General Patton's grave. I got to the cemetery early in the morning while it was very foggy, and was the only person there for most of my visit.

The gravestone at the bottom of the image is Patton, all the other graves form a semi circle as if they are all circled around him giving a speech.

I discovered that the airport is right next to the cemetery when planes started appearing out of nowhere through the clouds and fog. This seemed oddly fitting for a place where many paratroopers are buried.
